 Are you enjoying

these days?

Life is crazy.  Ask any parent, and they will voice a similar response. Their lives are busy, much too busy.  They are overwhelmed, and there doesn't seem to be an end in sight.

We have all heard the wisdom, “Enjoy these days with your children, time goes by so fast.”   But how do we do that?

See Jane Run - A Practical Guide to Breaking the Bondage of Busyness and the Captivity of Activity is a book being written today.  Through writer Joanne Kraft's personal, and very humorous experiences, she shares candid truths about the desire of all parents;  to make your time count.

Our Radical Sabbatical

All around the mulberry bush, the monkey chased the weasel.  The monkey thought twas' all in fun. POP! Goes the weasel.

Yep, that was me not too long ago - wife and mother, shuttling kids from one activity to the next.  I was ready to POP.

I had a choice. I could make some changes or have a mental breakdown.  Though a rubber room did sound quite peaceful, I decided to make the much tougher decision. I chose to make some changes.

Our family of six took a twelve month activity time-out. Some have called it our radical sabbatical. For an entire year we made the decision to say no to all outside activities and yes to monthly family field trips.

It was an experience that we will never forget - one I look forward to sharing with you.
